Masks & Cast

Hi!

So while doing my research for the costume, I decided that I want to go down that Baz Luhrmann route and use elements from his 1996 film Romeo + Juliet. I like the costume design of the character the most out of everything else I have looked at.

However, in some pieces that I've seen regarding robberies, the characters frequently have a significant costume/look. They typically wear masks or some other form of a costume. I've noticed this in movies such as The Dark Knight, Point Break, The Town, Spring Breakers, and Baby Driver. In the robbery scenes in these films, the characters typically don some sort of costume/masks.

I am still going for the Romeo + Juliet look, but I was thinking of adding a touch to the costume such as a mask. I don't think I would want a ski mask though because I think that is a bit cliché. I could go to Party City and see if I find anything I like that would fit along with the clothes of the characters.

Another thing I need to do is recruit people who are willing to act in my scene. In the past, I've had trouble recruiting people who have the patience to be in a scene that requires filming for a long period of time, which is another thing I am worried about when it comes to filming this opening.

In order to get people and have the time to film, I think I will do the filming during Spring Break. This will give me plenty of time to both film and edit my opening.

I will be asking people this week if they would like to be in my opening in order to have enough time to plan.

I will be posting updates on my cast and costumes in my future posts!
